INDIANAPOLIS- The Marion County Crusaders football organization of the CrossRoads Football League has done a blitz in the Indianapolis area signing players. On Saturday, Ronnie Saunders ended his time testing the free agent market by signing with the Crusaders. The safety/linebacker was one of many signings that took place over the past two weeks.
Saunders completed the 2013 season with the Indiana Mustangs (MidStates Football League). In spite of having two stress fractures in his left foot, Saunders played every game of the season, except for one playoff game, and was selected to the MSFL Eastern Conference 1st Team as a special teams player. The Crusaders are hoping the veteran can bring his knowledge and all star play to an already stacked defense.
I’m excited to be on a high caliber team poised to make some serious noise in the CRFL. The mindset here is championship or bust and the talent coupled with the coaching staff can make bringing the trophy home for the Crusaders.
The Crusaders will start preseason workouts later this month and the first preseason game will be on April 21, 2014.
